Therapy App

A free couples therapy workbook you can open right now

A weekly check-in, a structured way to repair after a fight, and conversation decks — free, no account, on your own two phones.

About the app this page opens

Together is built for two people on two phones rather than one person working through exercises alone. It is most useful in the moment right after an argument, when neither of you wants to start the conversation.

These tools are free and are designed to support therapy, not replace it. They are not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911 if someone is in immediate danger.

Communication exercises for couples

Together's repair tool is built for the worst moment: a cool-down timer first, then a structured pass through what I heard, my part, what I needed, and what I am asking for — with phrases to borrow when you cannot find your own. The point is to slow a reactive conversation down enough that each person can be understood, rather than to win it.

Trust-building tools

Trust is rebuilt through repeated, small actions over time, not in a single conversation. Together includes a conversation deck for after a breach of trust, and a relationship snapshot that treats trust as one of eight areas to look at rather than a score to pass or fail. It deliberately does not route a low trust rating to the breach-of-trust deck — a low rating is not evidence that something happened. These tools can support couples already in therapy and couples who want a starting point before committing to sessions.

Couples check-in guide

A structured check-in is one of the simplest tools couples can use between therapy sessions. Together's weekly check-in is five steps and takes about four minutes: rate the week, name one appreciation, raise one concern, make one specific request, and name one thing to look forward to. Done on both phones, it surfaces concerns while they are still small enough to say out loud.

Conversation prompts and connection

Connection takes deliberate effort, especially during stressful periods. Together includes seven conversation decks — reconnecting, how we fight, money, closeness, parenting, what comes next, and after a breach of trust — plus a one-tap appreciation log. They work offline and require no typing, which matters when the alternative is nobody starting the conversation at all.

Built for privacy

Together runs in your browser and needs no account, no email, and no signup. Used on one phone, nothing you write leaves it. If the two of you link phones, only encrypted data syncs between them — the key stays on your devices and is never sent to us, so nothing either of you writes is readable by anyone at Mountain Family Therapy. You can also use it entirely offline on a single phone and never link at all.

Is couples therapy expensive?

Couples therapy typically costs $100–$300 per session, and most insurance plans do not cover it. At Mountain Family Therapy, intake sessions are $195 and standard sessions are $165. This workbook is a free alternative for couples who want to start working on communication, trust, or connection without the cost of weekly sessions — and a useful starting point for those considering therapy before committing. FAQ

Common questions

Is this couples therapy workbook really free?

Yes. Together is completely free — no subscription, no account, no hidden cost, and no premium tier. Open it and start using the tools immediately.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no signup, no email, and no password at any point — including when two partners link their phones. The app opens directly in your browser.

Can this replace couples therapy?

No. This workbook is designed to complement couples therapy — not replace it. Many of the patterns that bring couples into therapy are easier to shift with a trained therapist who can see the dynamic from outside it. That said, the workbook is a useful starting point for couples who are not yet in therapy or who want to do work between sessions.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once the app is loaded, the tools work offline. You do not need an internet connection to use the workbook.

Is my information private?

On a single phone, nothing leaves it and no server is involved. If the two of you choose to link phones, the shared parts of Together sync between you as encrypted data — the key is generated on your phone, passes to your partner's, and is never sent to us, so we cannot read what you write. The app also keeps a private tier that is never shared with your partner by any path, and it says on screen which is which. Linking is optional and every screen works if you never do it.

What communication exercises are included?

A five-step weekly check-in, a structured repair sequence for after a fight, seven conversation decks, an appreciation log, and a snapshot across eight areas of the relationship. There is also a short reflection that helps you notice what is yours to carry rather than the relationship's, and says plainly when the honest answer is individual therapy instead.

How is this different from apps like Paired or OurRitual?

Most couples apps are subscription-based, require an account, and keep your relationship history readable on their servers. Together is free, asks for no account or email, works offline, and stores everything on your phone — and if you link with your partner, what syncs is encrypted with a key we never receive. It is also built to complement therapy rather than to replace it.
